Before there was Elmore Leonard, there was Raymond Chandler. I love Philip Marlowe and this is an excellent full-cast dramatization from 2014 by BBC Radio 4. Originally written in 1939, it's my favorite PM story and stars the wonderfully versatile Toby Stephens as Marlowe.
In 1982, the Canadian Broadcasting Company did a short series of full-cast audio dramatizations of well-known Nero Wolfe stories, and here is one of them. Originally written in 1955 for The American Magazine and called, "The Last Witness," it's a fun little whodunnit that only Nero Wolfe can solve!
This is one of the coolest, probably least-known gems that I have ever stumbled across: BBC Radio 4's project to transform unfinished films scripts into complete audio dramas. This is one of the best examples, starring a post-House Hugh Laurie and Rebecca Front!
This is a very mid-60s (1966), very British melancholy story from Irish author Bob Shaw; a reminder that no matter what you are going through, there is probably someone else who has it worse off than you. If nothing else, it just may make you appreciate what (and who) you have.
This is a cute one from X-Minus One, featuring a 1954 gem from the always satirical Scheckley. A long-lost colony of Earth tries to prove itself civilized...by creating a criminal?!? A cautionary tale reminding us to be careful what we wish for!
