Here's a brief intro by me to The Martian Chronicles, perhaps the perfect example of social commentary (quiet dissent?) couched within a "science fiction" work by the king of speculative fiction Ray Bradbury. If you've already partaken of my intro (or otherwise don't care to watch it), you can just scroll down a bit and listen to the main audiobook attraction just below this video.
Here is my version of the complete audiobook for your listening pleasure. I hope you enjoy Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles as much as I have over the years. If so, drop me a line and share your thoughts on it; I'd love to hear them and share my own (I can talk TMC for EONS!)
This is a full-cast dramatization of TMC by the Beeb from 2014. It offers a really unique and creative take on several of the stories from the book, and the production quality is amazing (per usual--I LOVE BBC audio productions!)
Here is an OTR version of the story Mars is Heaven! (aka The Third Expedition) for your listening pleasure. It was produced in 1950 by the cast of the popular radio program Escape! for the CBS Radio Network.
Here is another OTR take on the story Mars is Heaven! for your listening pleasure. It was produced by the ABC Radio Network and puts its own little spin on the story. Enjoy!
I'm partial to this particular version of Mars is Heaven! for a variety of reasons, but primarily because I love Dimension-X and X-Minus One radio shows, their wonderfully earnest scene-chewing acting, excellent production values (even by today's standards, in some cases), and more adult topics.
